We take great pride in helping our local area and have been supporting charities and clubs since the company was founded, in 2004. Our work in the local area continues to develop today.

Keeping Active:

We believe that it is essential for children to have access to sporting opportunities so that they can develop their confidence, abilities, and gain life-skills. Currently, we sponsor the Hull Zingari Cricket Club. We have sponsored the junior team for over 10 years and continue to work closely with the club. Hull Zingari Cricket Club was founded in 1896 and remains the oldest, and one of the largest, cricket clubs in the area. They have played on their present ground since 1910 and our sponsorship provides the club with new equipment for the young team members.

In the image above, posted by England’s Official Instagram account, you can see a member of our sponsored team coming face to face with England cricketer Moeen Ali and the joy that this sport brings to the children.

We also support other sports clubs including Newport Cricket Adult’s Club and Patrington Cricket Club. We began sponsoring Patrington Cricket Club in 2004 when the company was founded.
In conjunction with supporting local cricket clubs, we have also supported other sporting clubs across the region including purchasing football kits for a local football team allowing them to take pride in their professional kits!

Crafting Adventures:

Alongside sponsoring charities and sports clubs, we also like to donate candle making supplies to communities who’s members will benefit from the exciting prospect of new crafting experiences.

We have provided candle making supplies for local scouts’ groups who have made candles – safely – for their family members on Mother’s Day! This was hugely well received by their family members which received their craft creations. Some of the scout’s imaginative and wonderful creations can be seen in the images above!

Supporting National Charities:

We have also donated many of our Chandler Grey Pillar Candle Making Kits as raffle prizes to numerous charities across our region.

Most recently, we supported a local fire fighter who organised a fabulous fundraising weekend – raising a fantastic £545 for The Fire Fighters Charity. Here, you can see an image of Jim, local BBC present Peter Levy, and their mascot at the event!

Our workforce is dedicated to our charity work and have participated in workplace fundraising days for charities including Children in Need.

Our charity work has spanned 12 years and is something which we are immensely proud of. In 2018, our charity work continues to develop and improve the lives of our local community.

Golden Wax Comparison: Which soy wax should I choose?

We are often asked questions such as ‘what is the difference between the Golden Waxes?’ and ‘which soy wax should I use?’ To help make this easier, we have put together a handy wax comparison chart for the Golden Wax 494, Golden Wax 464, and Golden Wax 444: The Similarities All three of the Golden Waxes are manufactured by AAK. They are natural, kosher, vegan and cruelty free. The most suitable dye to use with natural soy wax is the Inpex SD Dye . Additionally, all three waxes have very similar fragrance loads (10-11%) and offer fantastic cold and hot throw when used alongside Escentscia Prime Range and Style Range fragrance oils. The Differences When choosing which soy wax to use, you need to first consider the type of candle you will be making. For wax melts and small moulded candles, you need a wax which contracts as it cools to allow mould release and therefore the Golden Wax 494 is most suitable. Please note that the Golden Wax 494 is not suitable for pillar candles.   For soy

Candle Making Guide: How to prime raw candle wick

All wicks should be coated in wax before they are used. We offer pre-waxed candle wicks here for customers who prefer the convenience, but we also offer raw candle wick here for customers who enjoy priming their own wicks. Raw wick is unwaxed cotton wick. It is supplied in string-like format and is wound onto a cardboard bobbin. A step-by-step guide to priming your own wicks can be found below: Cut the required length of wick off the cardboard spool which it is supplied on.  Dip the wick into the melted wax and keep the wick in the melted wax until you see air bubbles rise to the surface. This generally takes a few seconds.  When this happens, it means that the wick has absorbed a sufficient amount of wax and the wick can now be removed from the wax. Run your fingers along the wick to remove any extra air bubbles and then lay flat on a hard surface. Once this has dried, we recommend repeating this procedure twice, but please note when doing the 2nd and 3rd layer you only need to dip
