Introduction:
The Chandler Grey Pro Container wax is a creamy and smooth one-fill container wax which boasts a smooth surface, excellent container adhesion, and a powerful scent throw. It's low melting point (40-44C) also easily allows a full melt pool, when wicked correctly.Container and pillar candle making wax is very different; container wax is made to adhere, whilst pillar wax has been made to contract for easy mould release.
Characteristics:
Max Fragrance Load: 8%Melting Temperature: 40-44C
Pouring Temperature: As low as possible, ideally around 60C
Dye: Inpex Deep Dye is most suitable (mixed at 1g dye per 100g wax)
Wicking:
For the Chandler Grey Pro Container wax, we recommend testing the WickWell Cotton Core and Wedo LX wicks. Alternatively, the 0.508 Lumetique Wooden Wick range is also a suitable option to test.
However, please note that this is only a guide. You must thoroughly test your own candle combination. There are several factors which can affect the burn pool of a wick including fragrance oil, dye, or any additives. Therefore, we always recommend testing the wick size above and below your diameter also.
Tips & Troubleshooting:
- For best adhesion, and to minimise wet spots, we always recommend pre-heating your containers before pouring your candles.
- As with all waxes, we recommend adding your fragrance oil just before pouring your candle. Adding your fragrance prior to this point may cause some fragrance to evaporate.
- If you experience 'dipping' or 'sink holes' when using the Chandler Grey Pro Container Wax, this is commonly due to two factors. The first reason this commonly occurs is due to you pouring too hot; try pouring at a lower temperature. The second reason this commonly occurs is due to the environment your candle is cooled/cured in; ensure that you pour your candle in a room which is at a consistent temperature and does not have any draughts.
